Atlantic Cities’ Allison Arieff highlights blossoming pop up world

In The Atlantic’s recently launched Atlantic Cities, Allison Arieff takes a look at some “life-enhancing” pop ups in North America and western Europe. From the play pit in Seattle, walklets in San Francisco to Meeting Bowls in NYC and a reclaimed airport in Berlin, pop ups are reclaiming pedestrian space from cars, open lots and brownfield. It’s the physical world mimicking the Internet world, which showed us that the value of social interaction dwarfs everything else.
