In honor of Grilled Cheese Month, we’re hosting our 5th Annual Big Cheesy with our friends at Time Out New York on April 18 and 19, from 11am to 5pm daily. As always, we have six restaurants competing to be crowned the Best Grilled Cheese of 2015!

Mrs Dorsey’s Kitchen a market and festival regular from Brooklyn, is known for its original bacon-guac grilled cheeses and will (as always) be bringing their A-game. Newcomer Depanneur, an artisanal convenience store in Williamsburg, will be serving up a ‘hangover grilled cheese’ which we hear is filled with cheddar, avocado and sriracha. Twist & Smash’d,named after the twisted potato snacks they serve at their kitchen in Queens, will also be getting-their-grilled-cheese-on this weekend with a sandwich filled with cheddar and… friend chicken! We can definitely expect something tasty from La Maison Du Croque Monsieur since their namesake is a particularly delicious cheesy sandwich. Next up is The Wheelhouse, also from Brooklyn, whose restaurant features build-your-own grilled cheeses with a variety of cheeses, meats and veggies. And lastly, we have Artisanal Bistro, who definitely knows a thing or two about cheese (it’s their specialty).

Tickets are $30 for one hour to taste each of the six featured grilled cheeses and cleanse your palate with two Goose Island drafts.
