Oystoberfest Is Upon Us!


We at Openhouse have joined forces with Time Out New York, yet again, this time bringing you a little something we like to call – Oystoberfest. We’re kicking off both Oyster season and Oktoberfest with an unlimited oyster, beer and cocktail tasting on September 19th.

This original New York Oyster Week production will be held at our 201 Mulberry space, where you’ll be enjoying all-you-can-eat Blue Point oysters and 12 specialty oyster tasting from six different farms, shucked right before your eyes by the folks that farmed them. Then, while you’re enjoying your enjoying your oysters grab some craft beers courtesy of Blue Point Brewing, signature cocktails from Finlandia vodka and Plymouth gin and premium and sparkling wine tastings. There will be something for everyone!

And of course we’ll have some German sausages thrown into the Oktoberfest mix. You’ll be served three different types of sausage samples (one vegetarian) from Rosamundi for you to taste as well.

If you want to get a little hands on, the world’s fastest shucking station, the ‘shuck truck’, will be onsite as we are challenging you to a self-shucking challenge: for $20 suggested donation to Billion Oyster Project guests can try their hand at chucking for the first time or just for fun. Whatever you can chuck in five-minutes, you eat for free!
