Saturday, Openhouse teamed up with Clean Plates and yumspring to host more than 300 guests for Cool Cravings & Hot Startups, the dessert pop up with an entrepreneurial twist. Featuring nothing but natural ingredients, Cool Cravings included delicious creations by Brewla Bars, Krumville Bake Shop, SkyIce Sweet & Savory, purely elizabeth, NibMor, The Soft Serve Fruit Co., Stogo as well as drinks by Hint Water. From noon-3, guests enjoyed desserts like sweet focaccia, durian sorbet, tangerine soft serve and root beer popsicles. And each hour we had a foodie entrepreneur panel with moderators including Wellness in the Schools’ Executive Director Nancy Easton, Whole Foods’ Elly Truesdell, Huffington Post Assistant Food Editor and The Roving Gastronome Leiti Hsu. Soft Serve Fruit Co. President Daniel Karsevar talked about distribution while Rebecca Dengrove (Brewla), Antonella Zangheri (Krumville) and Heather Kenzie (NibMor) shared product-development insight and NibMor’s Jennifer Love discussed packaging and design.
