Stella Artois New York Regional Draught Master Pour Down! Saturday at Openhouse

This summer, Stella Artois set up a dozen pouring stations pouring stations throughout New York City at places like The Ainsworth, McFaddens @ CitiField, Ulysses and Open Door to teach New Yorkers how to pour the perfect Stella Artois. It’s a nine-step pouring ritual with only one acceptable result a head of foam that’s two fingers high. No more, no less. At the end of each night, draughters got to test their skills with a pour into Stella’s classic gold-rimmed chalices.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the eight winners will compete bracket-style in the New York Regional Draught Masters pour down at Openhouse Gallery. It’ll be a brewer celebration with hors d’ouevres and barrels of Stella, the fine Leuven-based beer. Starts at 9 pm and goes to 1 am

Next week, the NYC winner will head to the National Building Museum in DC for the US championships and go head-to-head (pun!) with winners from Boston, Denver, Las Vegas, Miami and Phoenix. After that? A jet flight to Buenos Aires and the World Draught Master finals at El Galpon de La Boca.
