In Manhattan, 15 bucks gets you one cocktail and a tip. Or a few beers at a hangover hole. Or a pair of wine glasses and three free olives during happy hour. Around here, $15 get you a night of smokin’ hot Harlem jazz, bottomless cocktail wizardry, a live art auction complete with paddles, a trio of Williamsburg-created amuse boche, your own art market and and a private backyard garden.
Thursday night, July 12, from 7-10 pm, Streetwater brings Art=Mixx to Openhouse 379 Broome. Last time they came through, Streetwater packed Openhouse 201 Mulberry with gigantic art installations and creative nom noms like oyster mushroom shooters for Big Lobby Art. This time they’re teaming up with Flavorpill, HowAboutWe, YellowKorner and Bushwick Print Lab to curate the dopest New York City artists from Chelsea to Crown Heights. Dandy Wellington and His Band bring a six-piece set to 379 Broome and Oak Beverages is mixing up whiskey Sazeracs, champagne cocktails and merlot-cab blends.
Art=Mixx features paintings by Borbay, Clintel Steed, Gili Levy, Jeremy Penn, John Sabraw, Joseph Meloy, Julian Rapp, Kelsey Montague, Lauren Purge, Lily Howell, Paul Zepeda and Todd Bienvenu; Photography by Cameron Neilson, David Trites, Guillaume Gaudet, Ilya Rashap, Kourtney Roy, Matthieu Casimiri, Slim Aarons, Teresa Sa, Wassim Serhan; mixed media by Elissa Levy, Stephanie Ng and sculpture by Jeremy Holmes.
