Who doesn’t love a good tasting event? Getting to try a bit of everything and coming back for more of your favorites, it’s a recipe for a good time. Openhouse has venues that make setting up, serving and breaking down as simple as can be.We have plenty of experience hosting tasting events of call kinds, from the Big Cheesy to fabulous wine evenings.

201 Mulberry the best choice for larger tasting events. It’s a big venue, especially around these parts where space is at a premium. With 4,500 square feet, it’s the perfect venue for multiple stands to allow lots of different tasting sites. 168 Bowery, with its subway tiles and brick walls, is the choice for a more intimate and urban feel at 2,000 square feet.

Last spring, Acid Inc. Selections set up their impressive wine tasting event at Mulberry. They filled the main and middle rooms with long tables holding hundreds of wines ready for tasting. They were able to have a large guest list because of  the space Mulberry offers. With all this wine that they were bringing in, they were in need of some storage room within the space as well. Mulberry is split up in to three rooms, which made it easy for them to separate the public event from back of house. They also made use of our pipe and drapes, so guests wouldn’t have a view of the storage space, keeping everything organized and clean.

Bowery has been the site of multiple Night Market events, where local Asian restaurants whip up food samples for ticket holders to taste. Located on the corner of Bowery and Kenmare, the space is equipped with a full restaurant grade kitchen, as well as an event side. The kitchen made it easy for restaurants to go from preparation to showtime without any fuss. The event side was used for tasting stations and for the DJ’s music equipment. Along the walls are plenty of outlets, which made it easy for the restaurants to plug in any appliances they needed to make serving food all night long easier.

Bowery also has a beer and wine license, so nobody has to worry about obtaining one to serve up some drinks to go along with the food samples. At Openhouse we take care of as many of the details as possible, taking the stress out of organizing tasting events.
